Waking Up In The Chelsea Flower District
In April my family and I took a quick family trip to New York City to be live audience members on The View ABC. We stayed at The Cambria Hotel & Suites in Chelsea, Manhattan. Chelsea is one of my favorite neighborhoods in NYC!
We arrived at our hotel pretty late that night but still went out to experience a quiet, colorful Time Square. The next morning I woke up to the hustle and bustle of the city. New York always inspires me to get up and do something, anything, as long as I’m not sitting around and watching life pass me by.
When choosing the hotel, I had no idea that it would be in the Chelsea Flower District. I didn’t even know a Flower District existed in Chelsea. Now, I’m not the type of person who obsesses over flowers and things of that sort, but its nice to have a surprise every now and then. I looked out the window and there was the most beautiful site. Flowers and plants everywhere. Across the street, I witnessed a truck unloading beautiful fresh flowers and plants. My sister Ayonna and I were so happy to experience the awesomeness that is the Chelsea Flower District.
As we were leaving to go to ABC Studios we saw a stack of USA Today newspapers in the lobby. We collected a few copies and proceeded to do an impromptu photo shoot in the heart of the Flower District. This is one memory in Chelsea that I don’t ever want to forget.
